Welcome to 2023!

Wednesday, January 11, 2023

Yes, things were sporadic last year, for a variety of personal reasons. It was not an easy year, by any means, but there is a somewhat brighter outlook right now so I'm making plans for this blog that you can count on going forward.

First: Regular publications. I have a schedule in place to publish every Monday and Thursday starting tomorrow, January 12, 2023. The rest of January is already scheduled so that will give me a solid lead-time into February. If that proves too much, I'll back off to just one of those days, but for now, the plan is for 2 blog posts a week, about anything that strikes my fancy. But I can guarantee book reviews, classic Hollywood blog posts, and some personal musings.

Second: I want Japanese entertainment to have more of an audience and my blog actually does get traffic. So I'm bringing the Japanese drama reviews back home to Musings of an Introvert to roost. You will not be flooded with them, but I hope to post at least two a month going forward, as part of the regular publication schedule.

Third: I'm planning on hosting two blogathons this year, a classic children's literature one in either April or May and then a return to the We Love Lucy blogathon that I hosted in 2020 that was a lot of fun, and I feel like she deserves round two. That will be hosted in August, just like last time, since August 6th is Lucille's birthday. Introductory posts for these two blogathons will be published in January so keep a lookout for them.

I hope you'll join me in 2023 as we navigate a new year together. ♥

    1. Thank you! I'm excited to approach it this way. Knowing me, a bit of structure and discipline should help me stick to a blogging routine.

  2. Happy New Year! I love your ideas for the blogathons. I don't think I've done a classic children's literature blog party. They Lucy blogathon that I did a couple years ago was so fun and I would definitely do it again.

    1. Happy New Year to you as well! The classic children's literature event was one of my favorite things to participate in and I realized I wanted to keep it alive. It was so delightful so I'm excited for the announcement post coming up. And I'm giving myself plenty of time to prep for the We Love Lucy blogathon this year so it shouldn't be as haphazard as last time.

    1. Thank you! I loved hosting it last time so I'm excited to be planning at again. Do you have any blogathons you're participating in this year that are related to Classic Hollywood? I sort of want to dip my toe back in, as it were.

    2. A couple more! Here's a Kim Novak blogathon that just got announced, and I just joined this Danny Kaye blogathon.

I have a page on my blog dedicated to upcoming blog events that I'll be hosting or participating in, so you can always pop by there and see if there's anything that interests you :-)
